Apricot

Falling Star Apricot is our first Miniature Silky Fainting Goat doe.

When we decided to get Apricot, we also decided we wanted to raise registered Miniature Silky Fainting Goats (Mini Silkies), so we were really excited about finding a registered breeder in our province. There are very few farms raising registered Miniature Silky Fainting Goats close to where we live in the Okanagan (in the Penticton area), so we are proud to now be among them! We purchased Apricot and brought her home on July 4, 2015.

Baby Apricot - 3 weeks old

Apricot was quite timid for the first few weeks we had her. She was a little scared to let us touch her, but you would never know it now! Apricot is almost always the first one to greet us, and loves to jump up on us and see if we have a treat for her! She is also a “nibbler”, and tries to chew on our clothes, hair, or anything within reach.

Apricot’s coat is really coming in nicely. She is getting “fluffier” all the time, and we are noticing some darker patches emerging in her coat colour. She really is a pretty doe!

Apricot is double registered, both with the Myotonic Goat Registry (MGR), and the Miniature Silky Fainting Goat Association (MSFGA). She is considered a full “fainting” goat, but we have not seen her “faint” yet, as she controls it very well. Please contact us if you would like more details of Apricot’s pedigree.
