Cher was just so adorable that we decided to keep her on our farm!
Cher was born on our farm on April 15, 2019, along with her twin brother, Sonny. She was such an independent little doe, right from the beginning. We’d always see her off in the pasture, grazing on her own. Since she was so small and delicate, she soon became one of the farm favourites! Like her mom, Bambi, Cher is registered with the Myotonic Goat Registry (MGR). Although she is not registered with the Miniature Silky Fainting Goat Association (MSFGA), she does have the lineage of the Miniature Silky Fainting goat breed, and her sire is our gorgeous Buster Brown (who is double-registered). She certainly faints regularly, just like her parents! And Cher was such an adorable girl that we decided to keep her.
One really unique thing about Cher is her coat. She has a shorter coat than most of our Miniature Silky Fainting goats, but it is very special. Cher develops a very thick layer of cashmere. It gets very heavy during the winter (more than any of the other goats), and sheds in the spring – but not all of it sheds. At any time of year you can usually see and feel that beautiful, soft cashmere on her!
