We really weren’t planning on getting another Nigerian Dwarf buck, but how could we resist this gorgeous guy, Stanley?
Stanley is a very handsome unregistered Nigerian Dwarf buck. He is a really special little guy – with a great personality! And with such wonderful colours, Stanley is sure to make some beautiful babies.
We brought Stanley home on July 23, 2016. He has gorgeous blue eyes and wattles and is really ready to meet some girls! Stanley is horned, and had been disbudded.
Stanley’s dam is Clover, currently at Tiny Foot Farm in Kamloops, BC, but she originated from Giggling Goat, Hornby Island, BC. According to Clover’s owner, Stanley is the “Mini-Me” of his dam! Stanley’s sire is Chase, from Wonderland Nigerians.
How we acquired Stanley is an interesting story. We had met the owner of a local petting zoo through a mutual acquaintance who runs an animal rescue organization. There are a number of Nigerian Dwarf goats at her petting zoo, and after talking, she had asked if we would consider taking Stanley. She got him in 2015, and although he is a wonderful, friendly goat, she thought he might do better with other bucks (especially now that he is ready to breed, and her does are in pretty close proximity to where he was kept). So Stanley came to live at GottaGoat Farm with us and our little bucks. So far, he is proving to be quite the character! Thank you Andrea – we are so happy to have Stanley with us.
