In the News!
We are often invited to bring our amazing goats to various community events throughout the year, which in some cases, has been a great way to help supplement our feed costs. As an added bonus, we have been featured in a number of news articles related to these events. However, we have been in the news for other reasons as well… If you’re familiar with GottaGoat Farm, you may know that we were the first farm to offer Goat Yoga (GOGA) in this area. We started holding our first classes in 2017, and other than briefly stopping due to COVID regulations, we have continued to hold Goat Yoga every year since (please note this is an outdoor, seasonal activity, so check our current schedule for class availability). We have also created a very unique gift experience called Lease-A-Goat, which has been a popular item for holiday and birthday gifts. It was seen by a local reporter, who then came out to the farm to take pictures and write a story about our gift program. Additionally, we have some blog posts and e-books that others have featured or referenced in their own blogs. It is always so exciting to see our farm, our products, and especially our goats highlighted in various media!

Evacuation from the Keremeos Creek Wildfire
There was a huge wildfire that broke out about four kilometres from our farm at the end of July in 2022. As the fire approached closer and closer, we made the decision to evacuate our animals. We received amazing help from our community to not only move all the animals, but also to help house them for several weeks until we felt it was safe enough for their return. It was such a stressful time for all of us (people and animals). During this time, there was quite a bit of local media about our evacuation, and again when we returned the animals back to the farm. We were also invited to do a presentation about our experience at the Global Animal Disaster Management Conference in July of 2023, and attended a local FireSmart event to talk about our experience.

Our Customer (and his Goats) In The News!
We can’t forget to share some of the media about a local man who has purchased several of our Miniature Silky Fainting goats. Greg has trained the goats to walk everywhere with him, and he has been spotted in several of the local towns and cities. People just love to run into him, as he lets them feed the goats, and really enjoys sharing everything about them. It is so great how often visitors to the farm tell us about Greg and his goats, and how fantastic to read all the news stories about them! (and a special thanks to Greg for mentioning us whenever he can!)
